Iran can raise electrical engineering services export by tenfold
TEHRAN- Iran’s annual exports of engineering services from electricity sector which stands at $3 billion at present can increase by five and even ten folds considering the infrastructures existing in the country, Iranian Deputy Energy Minister Houshang Falahatian said on Sunday, ISNA reported.
Also on October 2, Mojtaba Khosrotaj, the head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO), had announced that the country plans to double its income from export of services by the end of the Sixth Five-Year National Development Plan (2021).
According to Khosrotaj, the value of services provided to other countries is estimated to reach $16 billion by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2017) and the figure is planned to exceed $30 billion by 2021.
“Technical and engineering sectors, tourism, ICT and transit are four main areas for the exports of services,” he said.
